Researcher at LiftLab

Nicolas Nova is a researcher and consultant at LiftLab in Geneva, involved in innovation, design of new innovative products and services. He carries out usage and prospective studies in the digital field with video games, cellular phones, Web, robotics and communicating objects for clients such as Nokia Design, Vodafone, the CEA and the Ministry of Industry. He is the author of “Les Médias Géolocalisés: les nouveaux paysages numériques” (published by FYP) and co-author with Julian Bleecker of “A Synchronicity: Design Fictions for Asynchronous Urban Computing” (Situated tech, NY).

After training in cognitive sciences at the University of Lyon, and man-machine interaction at the University of Geneva, he wrote a thesis at the EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) on media and geolocalized services. He also teaches at the ENSCI – Les Ateliers at the HEAD (Geneva) and gives talks at international conferences such as PicNic, Reboot, O’Reilly, ETech, etc.

He is the publishing manager of Lift, an international conference on innovation and technological changes (http://liftconference.com) which takes place in Geneva, Marseille, and Je-Ju (South Korea).
