Marketing professor at the ESCP

Benoît Heilbrunn is an associate professor in the Marketing department at ESCP-EAP at the IFM (Institut Français de la Mode). He is also a speaker at the ENSCI – Les Ateliers. Several of his professional years have been in the communication and design fields. He has a HDR (recognized authorization to carry out research), Doctor in Science and Management (University of Paris-Dauphine), HEC and EHESS graduate (semiotics major), and a postgraduate diploma in Philosophy from the University of Paris 1 – Sorbonne. His concise knowledge in human and social sciences allow him to articulate ideas on the ideological dimensions of the consumer society and brand name economy. He is particularly interested in all the dimensions of material culture, notably to objects, design and visual identities. His teachings focus essentially on design, brand name management and the semio-anthropological approaches of the consumer society and marketing. He has published, in the collection “Que sais-je?” Le logo and La marque, as well as L’ABCdaire du design (Flammarion, in collaboration) and edited La performance:une nouvelle idéologie ? (La Découverte). Furthermore, he is a consultant in brand name strategy.
