Psychoanalyst, University Professor, Director of Research and Vice-President (CEVU) of Rennes 2 University

Alain Abelhauser is a psychoanalyst, a full professor, a research director (Équipe d’Accueil n° 4050), CEVU Vice President of Rennes 2 University, and the President of SIUEERPP (Séminaire Inter-Universitaire Européen d’Enseignement et de Recherche en Psychopathologie et Psychanalyse).

His publications include: Le sexe et le signifiant (Éditions du Seuil, 2002) as well as numerous articles in Ornicar ?, La cause freudienne, Le Nouvel Âne, Études freudiennes, L’évolution psychiatrique, Cliniques méditerranéennes, Psychologie clinique, Adolescence, Les annales médico-psychologiques, New formations, Journal of clinical psychology, and others. His research focuses on the articulation of psychoanalysis and medicine, psychic determinism and death, the status of the body in psychoanalysis, clinical perversions, notably obsessions, femininity and sexuality, and belief-related phenomena.

He is also one of the initial supporters of the appeal, “l’Appel des appels” and has contributed to the work “L’appel des appels - Pour une insurrection des consciences”, published November 4, 2009, by Fayard.
